KO CHIN

2002 TAIWAN

KO CHIN (b. 2002, Taoyuan) lives and works in Taipei. Working primarily with painting, her practice examines the relationship between bodily experience, private space, and mechanisms of looking. Drawing from everyday environments, personal memory, mythological structures, and symbolic narratives, her work transforms and reconfigures bodily imagery to explore how suppressed sensory experiences are observed, projected, and represented. In 2024, the Private Bathhouse series focuses on states of bodily disorientation as the body moves between private and public realms, further questioning the symbolic meanings of the nude within art history. In recent years, her practice has expanded to explore the relationship between bodily perception and identity formation.
